Hi, I'm Rachel.
Founder of Unjumble Health, and your guide to making sense of what's going on in your body. Calm, practical, and ready to support you alongside your GP.
About
A few years ago, I looked like I had it all together. I was the CEO of a successful business, leading almost 500 people. I was raising three kids aged seven and under. And I was drowning.
MY STORY
✦
I was burning the candle at both ends (and all throughout the day), afraid that if I stopped I'd be swallowed up by my to‑do list or let someone down. I was also gaining weight, losing sleep, having progressively more difficult cycles, and slowly losing myself. I was sick all the time, but the real low point hit when I suffered a bout of pneumonia and was unable to get out of bed for a week. How had I gone from completing triathlons, to unable to get out of bed, in the same calendar year? That was when I realised I couldn't keep going like this.
✦
Why doesn't
anyone tell us
this stuff?
✦
I went looking for help. My GP, who I respect greatly and still see today, offered a few sensible options. But a short appointment isn't designed to explain how your body works, and I wanted to understand why this was happening, not just manage the symptoms.
It took a long stretch of trial and error for me to discover the way my own body needed support, and to slowly build her back into the special, clever, capable machine that she really is. Along the way, I was delighted to discover that you can have far more input into the relationship you have with your menstrual cycle, your energy, your moods (and your whole self), than you may realise. What frustrated me most was having to work this all out on my own. I kept thinking, “why doesn't anyone tell us this stuff?”
✦
So I got serious, I got qualified, and I started Unjumble Health.
“Rachel combines real mechanistic depth with warmth, humor, and a clear teaching voice, and it is obvious how much she cares about helping women understand their bodies.”
HOW I WORK
No jargon. No judgement. No such thing as TMI.
1 Start with your story
A detailed intake form covers your symptoms and your experiences, well beyond the usual tick-list. I read it closely before we meet.
2 Join the dots
We meet in a private room, for an extended, unhurried appointment. I help you see how your experiences and your physiology may be connected, in plain language.
3 Leave with a simple start
You'll have two or three everyday actions, not a long list of tasks, and you’ll understand why. Follow-up sessions tackle one area at a time, tailored to you and your body.
I take complicated information and make it interesting, understandable, and practical. I learned in leadership that people operate at their best when you meet them where they are. Otherwise, they nod and smile, but don’t really feel heard, understood, or capable of taking their next steps.
WORKING WITH YOUR GP
Your GP stays in your corner. So do I.
I don't replace medical care. I fill in the gaps that short appointments leave. For example, if you've been told to “exercise and eat well”, I'll sit down with you and work out what that looks like around your kids' schedules, your appetite, and how you actually eat.
✦ I don't diagnose, order blood tests, provide contraception, or manage mental health conditions
✦ I'll ask to see your existing test results for context, and your GP stays the one who interprets them
✦ I keep your GP's details on file, and with your consent I can contact them about any medical concerns
✦ With your consent, I can send your GP a short summary after we've worked together
✦ I'll encourage you to take relevant questions back to your GP
Good health is built on context, connection, and continuity of care. Your GP and I each bring part of that.

A LITTLE MORE ABOUT ME
I grew up in Adelaide but had itchy feet and couldn’t wait to explore the world. I lived and worked in Alice Springs, Paris and Canada during my twenties, but now I can't imagine raising my family anywhere else.
I love to keep active. I once completed a Burpee Half-Marathon (840 burpees in around two hours), just to see if I could. I spend lots of happy time in the kitchen, concocting delicious and sometimes deceptively healthy snacks for the whole family.
I also serve on our school's Governing Council, chair the After School Sports Committee, and volunteer at our kids' cricket club.
